Why and how we made Romanticdesktops - Part 3 We have yet not discussed about the page design on RomanticDesktops Let me take us that here first. For the menu, we had an option of taking the menu on the left as is commonly done. But we chose to keep the menu on the top to give an uncluttered look to the page. The header has a small flash design to make the site look rich. More flash is no no, as many search engines don't search flash designs. Thumbnails - The thumbnails have been given a border and are laid two in a row and four in a column. This gives a neat look to the pages. Click here to find out yourself? Thumbnail Page Preview pages - All the content on www.romanticdesktops.com a> is in flash and incorporates video shots. The file sizes are therefore little heavy to download twice. we therefore decided not to give a preview in flash , but a static thumbnail with description of the content. On the preview page, a Tell a friend form is embedded right on the page to make it easier for the visitor to inform friends. A small text about Download on the right of the thumbnail completes the design of preview page. The text on the right is in flash to make the page alive. Look at some of the pages listed blow and decide if we are correct in our design decisions.
